Anyhow: we have two winners to announce for the Finn McCool costume contest, a little giveaway we put together following the waterlogged mud run held this past Saturday at Cazenovia Park in South Buffalo. People like to dress in wacky get-ups for this particular race, and we signed a good handful of these inspired athletes up for our contest, which ended on Friday at noon.

The winners, based on your votes, are Alex Slanovich (above, left) and Matt Pairey. Nice costumes, gentlemen! It’s a shame you had to run four miles in a rain storm, scale a series of slippery obstacles, slog through Caz Creek and slog through 20 yards of raw mud in those sweet frocks.

Look Book: it’s been thrown to the judges!

Our second annual Mercedes Benz of Buffalo Fashion Week Look Book was a big success this year, drawing over 150 photos from some of Western New York’s truly fashionable people. Seriously, this is a good-looking bunch. Our Look Book judges—Made by Anatomy’s Ali Eagen, Buffalo State fashion instructor and all-around Buffalo fashion maven Erin Habes, Mercedes Benz of Buffalo Fashion Week co-organizer Erin Reedy, commercial stylist and OnceVintage.com founder Molly Hoeltke and our own fashion columnist Avery “Ask Avery” Hartmans—are mulling over their favorite looks this weekend.

We will announce the winners early next week. The delightfully dapper victors will get free passes to select Fashion Week events. Charming! Good luck to all of the contestants—we’d be proud to roll into these super-stylish soirees with any of you.
