Statler falcon fledging rescued by SPCA - VIDEO

One of the fledging falcons atop Statler City took a spill over the weekend, but members of Erie County's SPCA rescued the bird and returned her home.

When the baby bird tried testing out her wings, she fell to the concrete below. She's one of four young peregrine falcons that reside in a nest on the roof of the
recently renovated complex in downtown Buffalo.

SPCA Serving Erie County rescued the young falcon and checked her out for injuries. Dr. Karen Moran determined that the falcon was not injured. After consulting with the state Department of Environmental Conservation, SPCA staff members returned the bird to her nest.
