Office of Labor-Management Standards

The Office of Labor-Management Standards (OLMS) in the U.S. Department of Labor's Employment Standards Administration is the Federal agency responsible for administering and enforcing most provisions of the Labor-Management Reporting and Disclosure Act of 1959, as amended (LMRDA). The law was enacted by Congress primarily to ensure basic standards of democracy and fiscal responsibility in labor organizations representing employees in private industry. The Buffalo District Office of OLMS has jurisdiction over most of upstate New York located in the Western and Northern Judicial Districts.
