This whole “not being able to watch Sabres games” issue is really cramping my style as of late. The Time Warner and MSG debacle will be even more of a pain when Time Warner customers—such as myself—will still not be able to watch the game tonight when the Sabres play in Carolina.

Fortunately, the Sabres front office has planned a viewing party for tonight to make the game accessible to fans. Arena doors will open at 6 p.m. and fans will be able to watch the game on the high-definition video board, which will be lowered to a comfortable viewing height. Admission to the viewing party, as well as parking for the event, will be free. Discounted food and drinks will also be available for purchase at the arena—we hear they are going to have half priced beer! The first 3,000 fans will also receive free vouchers for Coca-Cola products and popcorn.

First Niagara Center will have a game night atmosphere with in-game staples like Doug Allen singing the anthems, the Kiss Cam and t-shirt toss, as well as contests and giveaways during the commercial breaks. The Sabres store will also be open for the duration of the viewing party. This is a great opportunity for fans since Tyler Myers is also expected to make his return to the ice after a broken wrist injury. He has missed Buffalo’s last 19 games.
