The NFL unveiled brand new Nike uniforms today—including a new Buffalo Bills design—but fans aren’t so hot on the fresh threads.
Hardcore football fans who like to stay up to date with the latest NFL fashions are concerned that new Nike apparel will be significantly more expensive than the old Reebok jerseys they’ve been wearing. Here’s feedback from a few commenters on BuffaloBills.com:
“Nike merchandise is soooo much more expensive. The jersey/ apparel will look the same, they’ll just cost a ton more!” - Coug
“As a consumer, I am truly angered by this change. The new collar is ugly, and I am one of the numerous fans that will be expected to shell out hard-earned cash for one of these rags. What’s most frustrating is that I only own home uniforms from 2011. Where am I supposed to get a white 2011 uniform now?” - BuffaloOwdaTwnr
“rebbok has always produced quality nfl merch . the nfl should have stayed with reebok , or at least givin the deal to under armour.” - buffalomike
According to the official Bills news release, the uniform designs have undergone minor alterations. The neckline of the jersey, for example, has different colored stripes now, and fabrics have more versatile stretch capabilities.
The Bills and NFL reps seem pretty stoked about the new jerseys, but fans don’t have a lot of compliments for the new gear. And you know the old adage: If you don’t have anything nice to say, post it anonymously to the internet.
