There’s no hiding that the Buffalo Bills’ 24-14 win over the Cleveland Browns had long stretches of ugly football, and the sea of empty orange seats didn’t bode well for the Cleveland faithful.

According to Deadspin, the sports site affiliated with Gawker Media, the afternoon was awfully glum for the working press of both teams as well. Isaac Rauch’s post catalogs various tweets as examples of media complaints, ranging from annoyance over the rain, the spotty Internet signal and the notion that the Bills are perpetually cursed.

The post drew special attention to the Twitter account of Rochester Democrat & Chronicle sports reporter Sal Maiorana (@SalMaiorana), whose tweets in particular reflected the dreary weather.

Notably, no Buffalo-based writers were documented in the post, and taking a quick glance at their Twitter accounts—life was relatively rosy. Even TBN’s sports columnist Jerry Sullivan, who’s been regularly criticized for his negativity toward local sports franchises, exuded optimism at times:

Then again, Sully didn’t pass entirely on the pessimism, it was just directed toward the visitors instead of the Bills.

Regardless of media gripes, the Bills fans that made the short jaunt to Cleveland seemed to have a spectacular time, much to the chagrin of Browns’ star linebacker D’Qwell Jackson, who said talked about the abundance of boisterous Bills fans that stuck around at the end to the Buffalo News’ Tim Graham:

“I don’t like it,” Jackson said. “I don’t like it whatsoever. I’ve been here for a long time, and I’ve never experienced that. And it’s embarrassing. It’s frustrating, and it’s embarrassing.
