Imagine yourself as a fanatic Bandits supporter, a guy who wears the “O” between his two pals, “B” and “X.” You may pre-game at Pearl Street Grill and Brewery, hit the First Niagara Center early to heckle Colin Doyle, then wile the night away going shot-for-shot with Luke Wiles at Cobblestone.

For half the Bandits’ season, this approach works wonders. You’re a fixture at home games, and you can hear every Darris Kilgour expletive loud and clear from your seat a few rows above the bench. But what about the Bandits’ away games? The NLL is considerably under-exposed from a coverage standpoint—most feeds were quite grainy with audio that cut in and out—and it was a major success to have the playoffs televised on CBS Sports Network.

Fortunately, Mr. “O,” your streaming options have expanded greatly in 2013. The Lacrosse Network, a media organization founded by UC Santa Cruz alum and lax player Samir Chaudry, has come to terms with YouTube to broadcast every National Lacrosse League game live.

While YouTube is a promising platform for this season, The Lacrosse Network has grander plans for coming seasons, at least according to its website. The YouTube games are subject to local blackouts, but the quality of the Rochester vs. Washington league opener (~10,000 views) looks pretty solid—with the score featured in the upper left at all times and cool replay options like skipping ahead to the opening face-off and skimming through timeouts.

Four regular season games—including two featuring the Bandits (4/7, 4/21)—and a slew of NLL Playoff games will be televised on CBS Sports Network, though access depends on your cable package.
