In episodes four and five of the Buffalo Sabres’ “Beyond Blue and Gold” web-series, fans get a behind-the-scenes look at the Rochester Americans and the French Connection statue.

The first video takes us to Rochester, where Buffalo’s AHL team trains at Blue Cross Arena. Additionally, we get a look into the off-ice lives of Sabres prospects Brayden McNabb and Marcus Foligno, “exploring what life is like as pro hockey bachelors,” according to the team.

Episode 4: Rochester Americans

According to the team, “Sculptor Jerry McKenna was able to accomplish what many thought wasn’t possible: create a statue of the legendary French Connection line, with all three members in action on the ice.”

The video gives fans a never-before-seen look at the sculpture’s installation into Alumni Plaza outside of First Niagara Center. Take a look at the fifth episode of the “Beyond Blue and Gold” series below.

Episode 5: French Connection Statue

Be sure to check out the first few episodes of “Beyond Blue and Gold” from posts that we covered earlier in January.
