The next two videos in the Buffalo Sabres web-series, “Beyond Blue and Gold,” take a look at the 2012 NHL Draft and Development Camp respectively.

In the first video, we get a rare behind-the-scenes look into the Sabres draft room during the days leading up to the 2012 draft.

According to the team, “Whether you’re a player or GM, the annual NHL Entry Draft can be one of the most stressful nights of your career. But it turned out to be a bountiful draft for the Buffalo Sabres last June at the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, as they were able to select highly-coveted forwards Mikhail Grigorenko and Zemgus Girgensons in the first round.”

Take a look at “Episode 2: 2012 NHL Draft” below.

Moving on to one of the most physically and mentally exhausting workout’s one could possibly go through, the Sabres also documented their Prospect Development Camp from July.

According to the team, “a collection of young Sabres prospects converged on Buffalo for a week-long camp at First Niagara Center, with the goal of learning what it takes to become a professional hockey player. But in addition to their on-ice sessions, the group would start everyday training under the watchful eyes of a highly-trained team of Navy SEALs.”
