Lace up your skates, the 2012 WFTDA North Central Region Playoffs are taking place this weekend.
Hosted by our own Queen City Roller Girls, the roller derby tournament will feature leagues from all over the country for what is sure to be an entertaining few days in Niagara Falls.
According to the WFTDA,
The Queen City Roller Girls are in their sixth season of flat track roller derby. The league consists of four home teams, a travel team, a junior derby team and a team consisting of new and undrafted players. The area is uniquely qualified to host the North Central Regional Tournament. Western New York is within easy driving distance to so many derby skaters from Canada, New York, Pennsylvania and Ohio.
The tournament will run from this Friday through Sunday with tickets available through TicketLeap. Single day admission for the event is $27 per person or you can also purchase an $80 weekend pass.
For a complete schedule of events for the regional playoffs, head over to the WFTDA website. Also, the league has put together a pretty comprehensive hospitality guide, packed with local eateries, entertainment and accommodations in the WNY area.
