The ice has melted - PHOTOS

Only a day after locker clean out at First Niagara Center, ice removal has already begun.

These photos were taken by the Buffalo Sabres earlier this morning. It didn’t take long for plans to get underway to prepare the arena for the summer season by removing what was left of the Sabres’ playoff dreams. As of today, upcoming events at First Niagara Center include Bruce Springsteen this Friday, Bandits vs. Knighthawks on April 21, Tyler Perry’s Madea Gets a Job on May 17, Avicii on June 20 and Roger Waters on June 21.

I guess the off-season has officially arrived.

But while the Sabres might be out of contention, plenty of other teams and people are keeping busy with playoff preparation, especially Philip Pritchard. The “Keeper of the Cup” tweeted out this photo of Lord Stanley being screened through security, presumably in St. John’s, Newfoundland.
