In the latest videos from the Buffalo Sabres web-series, “Beyond Blue and Gold,” the team takes a look at training camp and drafting Mikhail Grigorenko. 

Episode six breaks down the end of NHL lockout and the team at a mini training camp for the players to prepare for a shortened season.

According to the team, ” find out what happened as the NHL lockout came to end and business resumed for the Buffalo Sabres. Go behind-the-scenes at the start of the team’s week-long training camp, including coverage of the Blue-Gold scrimmage at First Niagara Center played in front of 10,000 hockey-starved fans.”

Episode seven in the series takes a look at the decision to draft Mikhail Grigorenko.

According to the team, “When the Buffalo Sabres drafted Russian forward Mikhail Grigorenko 12th overall in last June’s NHL Entry Draft, it surprised many people. But in many ways, the move demonstrated a new organizational philosophy on taking chances on the future, rather than drafting based on past history.”
