WNY soccer home schedules: Flash and Blitzers

blog by Ben Tsujimoto • April 19, 2012 @ 2:31pm
The story-lines for soccer in Western New York this summer are abundant: there’s the reinvention of the Western New York Flash, in search of its third straight championship season despite the suspension of Women’s Professional Soccer; and there’s FC Buffalo, a suddenly-stacked men’s amateur club set to embark on its third season in the NPSL.
Exhibition matches will be included as they’re announced, but here’s the master regular season schedule for soccer in Western New York:
(All Flash games will be held at Sahlen Stadium in Rochester unless marked, and all FC Buffalo matches will be at Robert E. Rich All-High Stadium unless noted otherwise.)
Saturday, May 12: FC Indiana at Western New York Flash, 7 p.m.
Sunday, May 13: Detroit City FC at FC Buffalo, 7 p.m.
Saturday, May 19: New York Fury at Western New York Flash, 7 p.m.
Sunday, May 27: AFC Cleveland at FC Buffalo, 3 p.m.
Sunday, June 3: Greater Binghamton FC at FC Buffalo, 1 p.m.
Friday, June 8: Erie Admirals at FC Buffalo, 7 p.m.
Saturday, June 9: New England Mutiny at Western New York Flash, 7 p.m.
Wednesday, June 13: Chicago Red Stars at Western New York Flash, 7 p.m.
Sunday, June 17: Greater Binghamton FC at FC Buffalo, 3 p.m.
Friday, June 22: Philadelphia Fever at Western New York Flash, 6:30 p.m.
Saturday, June 30: Detroit City FC at FC Buffalo, 7 p.m.
Sunday, July 8: ASA Chesapeake Charge at Western New York Flash, 4 p.m.
Sunday, July 22: Boston Breakers at Western New York Flash, 4 p.m.
Extensive previews on both clubs will run on Buffalo.com in the first two weeks of May.
To get a jump on ticket information for both, here are the necessary links:
—$40 season tickets for FC Buffalo come with a complimentary team scarf. Additional merchandise (t-shirts, knit hats) can be purchased here.
—WNY Flash season tickets (eight vouchers) run for $68 for one person (general admission seats) and $120 for two (16 games). For preferred seating, eight vouchers run for $80, while 16 cost $152. The tickets can be used for any home game in any denomination (i.e. one ticket can be used for one match and then five the next). At this point, the Flash tickets cannot be purchased online. Call Sahlen Stadium box office at (585) 454-5425 to order.
