A crowd of 13,564 Bandits fans packed the First Niagara Center on Saturday night to witness the 2013 NLL season opener versus the Philadelphia Wings.

While the Bandits’ faithful were ready to rock, the team fell short as they were routed by the Wings 17-13 to move to 0-1 on the season.

Anthony Cosmo, the Bandits’ starting goaltender, was pelted for 13 goals on 51 shots against before being replaced by backup Kurtis Wagar. Dhane Smith and Mark Steenhuis led the Bandits in scoring with five points each while the Wings’ star on the night was five-goal scorer Jordan Hall.
