Bandits win fifth straight in defeating Rock - PHOTOS

by Robin David Brown  •

Normally when you state that a team had a “big win,” it’s due to something sports related.

Perhaps the big win was a gain in the standings or a momentum builder from beating a division rival. The Bandits’ 12-10 victory over the Toronto Rock was both of those things, for sure; however what made it big was not entirely related to lacrosse.

The victory was a birthday present for Tucker Williams, son of the Bandits player Shawn Williams, who is currently living in bed rest at Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto. Also part of the gift was a serenade of the “Happy Birthday” song by all 12,768 fans in attendance at First Niagara Center. Tucker was able to experience the big birthday wish while being linked up to the stadium scoreboard via FaceTime on an iPad.

Check out all the wonderful residents of Banditland and shots of the game action in the photo gallery.
