Canisius falters at home to MAAC foe Manhattan - PHOTOS

by Robin David Brown  •

Friday night’s contest between Canisius and Manhattan was a constant game of catch-up for the Golden Griffins and, in the end, they were defeated in front of a packed Koessler Athletic Center by the score of 84-73.

There were a few good runs for the Griffins, which resulted in something to cheer about, including a moment when the home team came within five points with 7:21 left in the 2nd half.

The loud gold rush of Canisius fans unfortunately did not thrust their team to victory this night despite a valiant effort by Billy Baron who scored 22 points and added seven assists. On the winning side, the Manhattan Jaspers’ George Beamon scored 27 points, over half of which were made behind the 3-point mark.

Check out the photo gallery to see a gold rush of Canisius fans as well as all the action on the court.
