The Canisius Golden Griffins gave the Iona Gaels all they could handle for three quarters of their men's basketball game Friday night at the Koessler Athletic Center, but the highest scoring team in the nation pulled away down the stretch to spoil the Griffs' home opener. Canisius held the Gaels to 25 points below their nation-leading average of 94 points per game -- however, Tom Parrotta's crew could only muster 57 of their own in the loss.
