Canisius loses third straight home game, falls to Quinnipiac - PHOTOS

by Robin David Brown  •

Koessler Athletic Center was jam packed on Thursday night as the Canisius Golden Griffins attempted to hand their mascot Petey a birthday victory at the hands of MAAC opponent Quinnipiac.

Despite outscoring Quinnipiac 54-42 in the second half, the Golden Griffins could not make up a half time deficit of 15 points as they dropped their third straight home game, 88-81.

Bright spots for the Griffins were Billy Baron, who led all scorers with 31 points, and Chris Manhertz and Chris Perez, who each had 14 points. The road to defeat for coach Jim Baron’s team had to be that they were out rebounded by the visiting Bobcats team 49-27.

Check out the photo gallery for shots of all the game action, Petey Griffin’s giant birthday cake, and the awesome Golden Griffin supporters in attendance.
