Over 3,000 UB basketball supporters came out to Alumni Arena on Wednesday night to see the Bulls take on the Kent State Golden Flashes. This game was the Bulls' latest attempt to win their first conference game of the season but it wasn't written in the stars for them last night. Despite an enthusiastic sea of blue filling the stadium the Bulls fell short at the end.
The game was close all the way up to 5:43 left in the second half when Xavier Ford made two free throws to put the Bulls up 66-64. From that point on, however, the Bulls only mustered two more points and Kent State ran away with the lead finishing the game with an 80-68 victory over UB. The Bulls' star forward Javon McCrea had a tremendous game scoring 33 points including going 15 for 15 at the free throw line while also collecting 4 blocks and 10 rebounds. The Flashes were led by scoring duo Chris Evans and Randal Holt who combined for 52 points.
