Canisius kids get flashy at Niagara game

by Ben Kirst  •

It's been a tough men's hoops season at Canisius College. The Golden Griffins aren't very good; fan support has been spotty; the Diet Pepsi at the concession stand has been egregiously watered down. Despite the adversity, the Canisius students pulled off a pretty neat dance maneuver during archrival Niagara's visit (and subsequent victory) at the Koessler Athletic Center -- a choreographed routine to the strains of Michael Jackson's "Don't Stop Till You Get Enough." Great song selection, guys -- truly one of The Gloved One's finest recordings. Highlights of the video: Petey the Griffin dancing like a champ. Our once and future intern Katie Costello and the Canisius cheerleaders seamlessly jumping into the act. The politely confused reaction of the grayhairs in the shot. The spontaneous "Beat NU" chant that bursts out at the end of the dance. The only thing missing was Buffalo.com's Ben T. exploding from press row to moonwalk at center court.

The real message here? Go to more games, Canisius kids! Basketball can be entertaining, even when your team is isn't.
