Two Bonnies on ESPN SportsCenter’s Top 10 Plays - VIDEO
It’s very rare when a Big 4 basketball team receives mention on ESPN, and it’s a special day when a local feat of athleticism is highlighted on the most popular sports highlight show.
Last night, the St. Bonaventure Bonnies had two spots on ESPN’s Top 10 Plays, Nos. 8 and 7, as two consecutive vicious blocks by 7-foot Senegalese reserve center Youssou Ndoye—one on star freshman guard Semaj Christon and another on veteran Brad Redford. Don’t tempt the Senegalese Eraser.
For play No. 7, St. Bonaventure senior forward Demitrius Conger drove hard to the middle of the lane from the left side, throwing down an angry jam over Xavier’s Jeff Robinson. If only we could get a poster of that humiliating moment for Robinson—Conger stuffed with authority.
Unfortunately, Mark Schmidt’s Bonnies fell to Xavier, 66-64, on Christon’s game-winning jumper.
