Best and Worst Dressed at Lollapalooza

This past weekend marked the 20th anniversary of Lollapalooza, the annual music festival in Chicago’s Grant Park that attracts artists and fans from around the world. While some managed to nail the perfect summer music festival look, others came up short. Here’s a look at the best and worst dressed of Lollapalooza.
Worst:
Taylor Momsen hasn’t quite figured out that her look is neither rocker nor chic. Her penchant for skin-tight, too-short dresses, towering platform shoes, stringy blonde hair and raccoon eye makeup makes her look like a homeless, drug-addled Goth girl. While I have to admit to secretly liking her music (she has a fantastic, raspy voice reminiscent of early Janis Joplin), her style is severely lacking.
Even if you stare at this photo of Cee Lo Green for a few minutes, it’s still not going to make any sense. He appears to be wearing a taffeta gown topped by metal-plated football pads. Why is he wearing that, you ask? I have absolutely no idea. This guy is clearly out of his mind.

Ok Go had their heyday in 2005 when they made that genius treadmill video, but now they’re just getting annoying. While I’m sure their set was entertaining and innovative – they never fail to put on a good show – they look like the Wiggles in formal wear. I appreciate a monochromatic ensemble as much as the next girl, but these guys made me have a “Rainbow Brite” flashback.
Best:
I’m loving British singer Ellie Goulding’s leather hot pants and cropped top for her performance on Day 2 of Lollapalooza. The zipper details on the shorts add a hardcore edge to her ensemble, while her leopard-print platform booties are super-chic.
Grace Potter gets it. The front woman of Grace Potter and the Nocturnals has a killer voice and even better wardrobe. On stage and off, Potter has an edgy, rocker chick style that’s hot without being overly revealing. From her skin-tight leather pants to her white mini-dress, Grace Potter nails it every time.

The Black Cards managed to look more badass than everyone else in simple v-neck tees and tank tops. Bebe Rexha’s heart headband is adorable without detracting from her hardcore look. Paired with smokey eye makeup and wavy hair, Rexha looks pretty and also like she could beat you up. However, I was all set to like the Black Cards until I realized that guy on the left is Pete Wentz. Never mind…
