Buffalo Fashion Week looks to dazzle Queen City

Already in its fifth year, Mercedes-Benz of Buffalo Fashion Week is back with a packed week of must-attend events.
This year, organizers have planned seven events for the Queen City featuring the best of Buffalo’s fashion, shopping and beauty industry, as well as showcasing special talent who will be traveling from other cities in the U.S. and around the world.
Here is a breakdown of all the Buffalo Fashion Week events that you need to know about.
Thursday, Sept. 19
Niagara Square Photo Shoot—10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Niagara Square
The first event for the week’s festivities, Niagara Square will be taken over by models, photographers, hair and makeup artists for a “Black Swan” themed promotional shoot. Mayor Byron Brown will also be in attendance to issue a proclamation at 12:30 p.m., officially kicking off Buffalo Fashion Week. This event is free and open to the public.
FAME Fashion Show—6:30 p.m. at Waiting Room
Designers and vendors including Bales Clothing Co., Addicted Denim, Sourpearls, S&R Boutique and more will showcase at the first runway event of the week. Tickets for this show are $25 for general admission, $50 for VIP and can be purchased through the Bales Clothing website.
Saturday, Sept. 21
The Mall Show—1 p.m. at Walden Galleria Mall
Featuring designs from a variety of stores, this runway event has featured Macy’s, H&M and Bebe in the past—not to mention a kids clothing portion. Taking place on a raised runway in the middle of Buffalo’s favorite shopping destination, check out the looks while you shop. This event is free and open to the public.
Sunday, Sept. 22
BFW Beauty Expo—1 p.m. at Hyatt Regency
A new event for Buffalo Fashion Week, the Beauty Expo will be a day-long event feature dozens of local salons showcasing the latest in hair and make up styles and trends. Guests will be able to wine and dine during the day, watch beauty demonstrations and sample products. Tickets to the expo are $15 and can be purchased here.
Tuesday, Sept. 24
The Boutique Show—6:30 p.m. at Mansion on Delaware
A favorite for those looking for a more intimate event, the boutique show will feature an array of local boutiques including Elmwood’s newest clothing and accessory shop, Blush. Local designer Vania & David will also be showcased at the event. Tickets to this runway show are $40 and can be purchased here. There is also a cash bar.
Wednesday, Sept. 25
Prospective fashion students at Villa Maria College will have the incredible opportunity to work with and learn from Project Runway season 10 contestant and finalist, Christopher Palu at this student workshop.
Thursday, Sept. 26
Main Runway Event—6:30 p.m. at Statler City
The must-attend event of the entire week, the Main Runway show is a night full of runway shows, vendor exhibitions and lavish food and drink, alongside some of Buffalo’s most stylish residents. Runway shows this year will feature Jimmy Lee Designs, Marc/Ella, Deana Ansara, Rock’N'Roll People and Franci Jewelry.
Tickets to the main event are $50 for general seating (admission to all runway shows) or $125 for VIP which includes VIP preferred seating to the runway shows, access to the VIP lounge and gifting suite. You can purchase tickets to the Main Runway Event here and don’t forget—dress to impress.
