Celebs step out in their Sunday [morning] best

This fall, your eveningwear should be stylish, chic and above all, comfortable. That’s why fashionistas everywhere have been stepping out in couture…pajamas?

That’s right. One of the biggest trends in night-out attire is quickly becoming an outfit you typically don’t see outside the bedroom. Stylish ladies like Jessica Alba and fashion designer Rachel Roy have been spotted in their PJs at various red carpet events throughout the past few weeks.

These aren’t your shapeless flannel pajamas or skimpy negligees, however. Jessica Alba chose a silk Dolce & Gabbana pair for a film premiere, while Rachel Roy, a favorite of First Lady Michelle Obama, rocked a pair of loose-fitting pinstriped jammies on the red carpet at the “One Day” premiere.

The key to pulling off this comfy look is to choose your accessories wisely. Roy paired her PJs with bedazzled Manolo Blahnik heels and a streamlined leather clutch, while Alba paired hers with red lipstick and loosely pinned-up hair. Just because you’re out in your pajamas, doesn’t mean you have to look sloppy.

Want to try this look for yourself? The Afterhours Satin Pajama from Victoria’s Secret in black stripe would look great with a pair of red stilettos and some gold jewelry. The Cotton Striped Pajama set from Ralph Lauren, on the other hand, is so tailored; it could be worn with a pair of oxfords and some tortoise-shell glasses. But all you really need to pull off this look is a simple pair PJs and some confidence.
