Chic and Sweet celebrates one year anniversary

blog by Avery Hartmans  •

Do you love clothes? Do you love to support a great cause? Then Chic and Sweet’s one year anniversary party is the place for you.

The boutique, located at 1453 Hertel Ave. in Buffalo, will host a celebration in honor of it’s first year at 5 p.m. Thursday. And what a first year it’s been: owners Zach and Annemarie Schneider won Buffalo Spree’s Best New Business Award.

In honor of that, the husband and wife duo has decided to give back to the community that helped make Chic and Sweet so successful. For the entire month of August, a portion of all purchases will go toward American Heart Association.

“We wanted to do that just because American Heart Association is really near and dear to my heart,” Annemarie Schneider said. “I’ve had family members who have been touched by heart disease and it’s the leading cause of death among women. Since we cater to women, we wanted to give back to something that helps women.”

American Heart Association is also co-sponsoring the anniversary party, which is sure to be a super-chic affair. The event will feature a red carpet with the opportunity to have your photo taken and posted on Facebook, as well as a champagne toast, giveaways and sales throughout the store. And now is the time to buy: anyone who makes a purchase over $50 receives a free red scarf.

Spending more than 50 bucks won’t be a challenge. Schneider describes the clothes at Chic and Sweet as classic, sophisticated and eclectic — a store where you can find truly unique pieces that will stay in your wardrobe for years to come.

“We appeal to so many different ages and we can accommodate so many different price points,” Schneider said. “A woman in her 20s can come in here and buy a cute little top for less than 50 dollars and a woman in her 50s can come in and buy a really sophisticated, nice outfit that is less than 500 dollars.”

The store also only carries a few of each item, so you won’t see your outfit on anyone else. Sounds chic and sweet to me.
