There nothing better than looking stylish for spring. Good good for a great cause with this year’s “Fashion Show with a Twist” to benefit Haven House.
Taking place on Sunday at the Hearthstone Manor in Depew, this fashion event is meant to show the community a good time with guests leaving knowing that their support will help make life better for women and children in the WNY area.
“The first ‘Fashion Show with a Twist’ was initially conceived as a celebratory event held to commemorate Haven House’s 30th anniversary and it was also intended to thank our donors, funders, colleagues and former residents for three decades of support and hard work,” said Child & Family Service PR specialist Nicole Puzzella.
“Due to the tremendous response from attendees and impassioned pleas to repeat the event, the function was brought back on an annual basis and now serves as the primary fundraiser for the shelter and counseling program.”
The fashion show itself will feature looks from Kohl’s department stores and will showcase female models of all ages, children and will represent a diverse cross-section of Haven House clients and community supporters.
Lunch will be provided during “Fashion Show with a Twist” and a unique shopping experience will also be available for guests.
“Before and after the fashion show there is unique on-site vendor fair where guests will have the opportunity to shop dozens of local artisans and vendors ranging from gourmet treats to jewelry to hand-crafted stationary,” Puzzella said.
“Twenty percent of each purchase from any of the vendors during the event will be donated to Haven House.”
According to event organizers,
All of the funds raised will benefit domestic violence survivors rebuilding their lives at Haven House, Erie County’s only licensed domestic violence shelter. Funds will help provide residential services for women and their children staying at the shelter, as well as non-residential services for domestic violence survivors in our community, including a 24-hour confidential hotline, counseling, advocacy, legal clinic, the Economic Empowerment Program, the Art Empowerment Program and more.
As a non-profit organization, Haven House relies on the financial support of generous individuals and groups in the area and gratefully accepts financial donations. If you’re looking to donate other items, the organization is also in need of toiletries, personal hygiene items, clothing, cleaning supplies and more.
