When a sweet southern girl, raised in a small town in Georgia gives up a full scholarship in order to pursue singing, she must love music.

Joanna Smith, a country newcomer comparable to the likes of the Dixie Chicks will be part of the WYRK winter acoustic concert on Wednesday at Shea’s.

Signing with Columbia Records in 2010, Smith has a southern chic style complete with denim jackets, summer dresses and a whole arsenal of cowboy boots.
