Keeping up with style + fashion in Buffalo

So you want to keep up with style and fashion in Buffalo, but you are not, as they say, “in the scene.” Don’t worry! Most of us aren’t. Like you, we stare from a respectful distance, trying to build up the courage to walk into a tailor shop and find out what the hell thread grades mean.
Anyhow: while you suck up your courage, here are a few online sources for you to keep up with what’s happening, fashion-wise, in the Queen City.
Buffalo Dandy: Guys—do you need to learn how to tie a bow tie? Trying to think outside the box with your socks? Want a primer on appropriate gentlemen’s hats of the non-baseball variety? These are just some of the topics addressed at Buffalo Dandy, a site dedicated to men “...who (place) particular importance upon physical appearance, refined language, and leisurely hobbies, pursued with the appearance of nonchalance in a cult of Self.” Word.
Buffalo Stance: K. Isabella regularly shares style photographs modeled at semi-familiar places around the city of Buffalo. The looks are almost always pushing the trend envelope and offer excellent examples of pieces for the ladies that simultaneously feel edgy but wearable. These are clothes you could model memorably.
Buffalo Spree—Style Council: Written by Erin Habes, the It Girl of the Buffalo style scene. Style Council offers tips, hints and news on everything from clothes to photographers to scents to sales. Probably falls into that “must-read” category.
Visit Buffalo Niagara Style Blog: A good look at some of the local shops and boutiques that you may have heard of and never visited (but want to) or places that may not have even been on your radar. Plus—and this is between you and me—Visit Buffalo Niagara has some pretty interesting local fashion plans coming to fruition in the near future. That’s all I can tell you for now…so keep an eye on them.
BuffaloNews.com Home + Style: Hey, we know these guys! While the content isn’t always “edgy” (garden notes, anyone? Silver polishing tips?), there is a wealth of content on clothing, decor, accessories and fashion news from the local, national and international runways. Call The News an old standby, if you want, folks, but that just means it’s reliable.
