New Era releases Buffalo Bills sideline cap

After Stevie Johnson hauls in a touchdown, engages in a well-thought-out but possibly fine-worthy celebration, he’ll need to put something on his head. It’s simply not cool to keep your helmet on—even though that piece of hardware can be easy to lose—and something must shade a player’s vision from the piercing Miami sun.
Personally, I think this is an upgrade over New Era’s draft cap (pictured below). New Era privileged its Facebook audience with an exclusive release of the sideline caps yesterday morning, well before these go on sale to the general public July 12.
The sideline caps appear very simple in their design—interestingly (read: nerd-ily), the Bills join the Jaguars, Broncos, Eagles, Redskins, Cowboys, Lions, Falcons and Buccaneers as the only teams with different colors on the brim and the head of the hat. With absolutely no ties to Seattle whatsoever, I think the Seahawks’ version is the one I’d snag. Nothing like sporting a perturbed seahawk on your dome.
New Era Caps is headquartered in Buffalo at 160 Delaware Ave. For a deeper look inside the business and New Era’s recent foray into NFL apparel, here’s Chuck Alaimo’s photo gallery from the draft caps release party in April.
